Hey all, I wanna do coffee night at my house this week, Most of you haven't even been there yet. Call me for directions if you need em. It's St. Patty's Day, so wear something green or prepare to get pinched! I'm gonna have planty of drinks too, if you're interested: Coke, Pepsi, Root Beer, Captain Morgan's Rum, Kahlua, Mudlides, Bailey's. So, you can drink but you don't have to. Maybe we'll order some pizza too. Anyway, starts at 7:30, no earlier (I give a lesson until 6:30, so I need time to get back home and stuff).
RSVP here or call me, yeah? Just so I know who's coming. Thanks!

Well, my weekend was good and bad. Yesterday was nice. I was scheduled to work from 4 to midnight. Yuck, way too long and way too late. Well, my friends came over to visit with me on my break. I was just expecting Tess and her husband, but they brought Jessie, Cassie, and Darien with them too. They came with a stuffed rabbit from Build-A-Bear wearing a girl version of a Santa Suit. When you push one hand it says, "We love you, Heather!" The other hand said, "From Deanna, and Darien, and Cassie, and Tess, and Glenn, and Jessie, and all the other Atlantians!" And they informed me that Josie had wanted to come too but couldn't. I feel very loved. The best part was that when my manager saw how many people were there for me, instead of giving me my break, he let me go home early. So I got to go out to dinner with all my beautiful friends! Well, just Darien and Tess, cuz the others couldn't make it, but it was nice all the same. And Deanna ended up meeting us there for a few minutes so I got to thank her too. That was nice. THANKYOU JOSIE!!! ::huggle/glomp::
My aunt's memorial/funeral was today. It was wierd. It was a very informal memorial, but they had no funeral for her. It was just about 20 or so of the family in a restaurant visiting and talking a lot and crying once in a while. It was nothing like Ron's funeral, the informal memorial we had for him later, or Alberto's funeral. I guess it was a little like the memorial we had for my Uncle Stewart a few years ago, but that was still much more formal even though it was just in his backyard.
When we got there tonight, my Uncle Gil (Aunt Tina's husband) stood up and started calling up individuals and saying how much they meant to Tina. The thing was, he praised one of his daughters and never mentioned the other. I felt really bad for the other. They're both actually his stepdaughters, but he's been their dad for almost 20 years now.

Idea for Christmas
*pokes comm* Anyone alive???
Anyway, Darian and Lari-chan and I talked this over briefly but I don't recall it being officially discussed at coffee night, so I'll probably bring it up next week if I remember.
We were discussing the possibility of having a Secret Santa exchange this year instead of the normal white-elephant party (which is not to say we are abandoning the white-elephant, it'll just be in a slightly different form). That way everyone can get one nice present (or two, if we're doing it in two stages) for one other person, instead of everyone getting white elephants.
I was thinking we can make a list of participants and have everyone make their 'wishlist'. This can and should consist of things that can be either bought or made, in case the Secret Santa feel a personally made gift is more appropriate. The only thing I'm still unsure about is how to enforce the gift giving, since it would really really suck if someone signed up but didn't get their assigned person something.
So if anyone has suggestions for that, I'm all ears.
Darian also came up with the idea that we should do edible white-elephant presents. That way we will still have the fun of stealing presents from others, and making something to eat should technically be cheaper.
And...that's all folks. I hope to run the idea by everyone that don't have a LJ next coffee night, and I hope it works!^_^

Dude, I was talking to someone and said something to them about needing to type some homework for class and look something up on the internet for school. Their reaction? "I think this whole internet/computer fad is just gonna blow over soon..." Wow, that's special...

MOTION TO MOVE COFFEE NIGHT LOCATION
Not that I think this'll reach more than three other ppl, but here's to hoping...
There's a nice little boba/milk-tea/icee/cafe type place in the plaza right by Ben and Cassie's house (in the plaza w/ Jack in the box?). It's got nearly everything Starbucks has and more (There's food in addition to drinks), plus more room and supposedly free internet for customers (Mel and I didn't check it out) there's also a cool VIP thing where you get stamps for every drink and after 9 you get the 10th free, and there are buy one get one free specials every once in awhile.
I think we should try it there at least once. Any opinions/suggestions?

Coffee night this week?
Does anyone know if there's going to be a Coffee night this week?
Still trying to crochet, but it might help if I actually read the How-to book..@_@

Ah yes, the joys of Christmas. Like Majo said, I need Christmas lists from all of you. But I am also short on funds (as in I have more money in my wallet than my bank account and there's not much in my wallet). We're all short on funds though, so if you haven't heard already, we're having a make or bake Christmas. So, I can crochet and sew. There are a few things I would like to know for my Christmas gift list for everyone. Please answer all questions if you're a girl. If you're a guy, at least tell me about the scarf if you're interested...
1. Would you prefer a scarf, a purse, or a skirt? Or is there something else I can make or crochet that you would prefer? I can only crochet smaller projects, like scarves or purses though, because I can't crochet very fast. I can sew ok, so you could maybe get a bigger somthing that way, but I make no guarantees. Justin, I don't know what to tell you, dude. Same to any other guys that end up joining here. I'll figure out something for ya'll though.
2. What are your favorite colors?
3. If I give you a scarf, what color would you like it to be? What about a skirt? A purse? I ask these separately from the favorite color because I might not want a forrest green purse...
4. Any other ideas?

Public Service Announcement!
Hello all (tho at this point it seems to be just me, Rendia and MacKenzie)...
Right. Please think of a few things you'd like for christmas. Preferably affordable to a person of modest means who have also other presents to budget for. I'm collecting wishlists.:)

Ok, so I made this for everyone to make announcements or post stories on or whatever. So, I guess I get to make the first announcement, which would be that coffee night is at Starbucks this week. Same time as usual.
